As you have read my previous blog in which I was writing about how i got TEEN MURTI BHAVAN as my research topic in college i would like to go forward with my research .
It was an amazing experience I got to know more about teen murti bhavan and the struggles of Nehru how he made India an independent country.
In the teen murti marg their are  3 stone and bronze statues .These stone and bronze sculptures were created by Leonard Jennings to commemorate those killed from the cavalry and armored regiments of the Indian Army during World War I.  

Teen Murti House, located to the south of Rashtrapati Bhawan in New Delhi, derives its name from a group of three statues of soldiers, representing the lancers of Mysore, Jodhpur and Hyderabad states, installed here in 1922 as a memorial to the sacrifice of the soldiers of Indian states during the First World War in Sinai, Palestine and Syria. Designed by Robert Tor Russel as a part of Edwin Lutyen’s imperial capital, the Teen Murti House was built in 1929-30 as the official residence of the Commander-in-Chief of the British Indian Army. This elegant building, designed in an austere classical style, was carefully erected to reflect the military prowess of the Raj. Field Marshal Sir William Birdwood was the first to occupy this house, while General Sir Roy Bucher as the last, vacating it soon after India’s independence in 1947.

              Austere style basically means very simple in architecture with dull shades all over.
In August 1948, the Teen Murti House became the official residence of independent India’s first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, who lived here for sixteen years until his death on 27 May 1964. The House came so much to be identified with Jawaharlal Nehru that it became turned synonymous with his name.
After his death, the Government of India decided to convert the Teen Murti House into a memorial that would perpetuate Nehru’s memory and legacy. On November 14, 1964 Jawaharlal Nehru’s 75th birthday, the then President of India, Dr. S. Radhakrishnan, formally dedicated the Teen Murti House to the nation for housing a museum and a library, now known as Nehru Memorial Museum and Library. The Teen Murti House campus also houses the Nehru Planetarium.

Hey guys Delhi tour brings back fond memories. Relatives, cousins, summer vacations, coke, mango, fun and long days that overlapped the nights too. This was when I was growing up and every time, relatives planned a visit to Delhi, we parallelly planned a visit with them to various markets and tourist spots. Well, that was then. Now, when I am a design student trying to absorb and observe the world around me, markets and tourist spots (as we called them) suddenly become research topics. It was one morning when my father woke up and asked me to visit teen murti bhavan .When i got it again just my dad was replaced by the faculty of the college at that point of time i had a huge grin on my face.  This was my second visit to teen murti bhavan with a different perspective.        I hope you guys are enjoying reading my blog going further i would like to tell you about the social culture of teen murti bhavan . Its a place where every and anybody  can come. Mostly it caters the school students and teachers . It also attracts tourist but most of them are South Indian tourist or Sri Lankan tourist . Foreign tourist also come but the footfall of foreign tourist is very less . But if they come they are mostly from Europe. They also provide a tourist guide which explains the exhibits and the display of the rooms present in there. The guide is very friendly and explains in a very good manner but only in English and Hindi language. Students watching the movie in planetarium They also have many officials which work there. There is also a library where people like researchers ,journalists, etc come to research about modern Indian history .  No body in the whole teen murti bhavan has a formal dress they wear formals but they are according

Teen murti bhavan from outside As you have read my previous blog  I talked about the history of teen murti bhavan now I would like to talk about  how teen murti  bhavan visually looks like . Its an amazing place full of peace and knowledge . It has greenery and has a lot of animals like monkeys, peacocks etc. Teen murti bhavan has a museum which tells about how this great man full of knowledge Mr Jawaharlal Nehru made India an independent country along with all his struggles i.e. quit India movement , Satyagraha, etc.  Jawaharlal nehrus room It also has the rooms which were there at the time when he was living . They are preserved as it is till date .The rooms include  indira  Gandhis room, nehrus study , nehrus own room  , conference room . It is kind of sad how we proudly get ourselves clicked with the famous statues at Madame Tussands but are totally unaware of the almost real statues in the museum.
